Rockfall Protection Ring Net

Ring net is a material that combines flexibility and strength, which, along with a top-tier anti-corrosion coating, makes it indispensable for use in engineering protection structures against dynamic processes and objects possessing high kinetic energy. In terms of its mechanical properties, this material has no alternative.
Applications of ring nets:
- Rockfall drapery installation on unstable rock slopes along linear transport infrastructure;
- Load-bearing net panels for rockfall and debris flow catchment barriers;
- Base elements of snow retention barriers in rockfall impact zones;
- Structural protection of bank reinforcement structures against ice runs, driftwood, etc.;
- Use as part of custom-designed protection systems;
- Protection against dynamically moving objects with high kinetic energy on land, in water, and in the air.

Key Features of Ring Nets
Ring nets are hand-woven on specialized machines in accordance with TU 1275-001-75212412-04. The net consists of rings woven from high-tensile steel wire according to the standard selected by the customer: GOST 7372-79, GOST 9850-72, EN 50189:2000, STO 71915393-TU 236-2022.
Wire Type
Ring nets are made of steel wires with a tensile strength of over 1570 N/mm². It is possible to use wires with either a zinc or zinc-aluminum coating with a density of over 250 g/m².
Types of Ring Nets
Ring nets are divided into two main types: 4-contact and 6-contact. In 4-contact ring nets, each ring is interwoven with four adjacent rings, while in 6-contact nets, each ring is interwoven with six adjacent rings. 6-contact ring nets are a stronger material with similar weight characteristics compared to 4-contact nets and are more complex to manufacture.
Ring Types
Each individual ring of the net is essentially a high-tensile steel wire rope woven into a continuous loop. The inner diameter of the ring can be 250, 350, or 420 mm ±10 mm, and the number of wire turns in the rings is 7, 12, or 19.
Dimensions and Shape of Ring Net Panels
Standard ring net panels have a rectangular shape and measure 3x10 meters, which is convenient for installation and transportation. Upon request, panels can be manufactured up to 10 meters in length and up to 15 meters in height in the folding/unfolding direction. Panels are folded and unfolded into 'accordion' stacks. It is also possible to manufacture triangular and trapezoidal ring net panels.
Marking
The net designation reflects its main design parameters:
SS-[wire diameter].[inner ring diameter in cm].[number of wire turns in the ring]/[number of contacts between rings]

Scope of Delivery

Ring nets are delivered in bundles tied with binding wire. Upon customer request, delivery on non-standard size pallets with a phytosanitary stamp is possible. Pallet strapping is performed with galvanized steel tape.
Ring nets are marked with tags. The delivery set includes:
- transport waybill;
- certificate of origin and quality from our manufacturing plant.

Applications of Ring Nets

Debris Flow Barrier
Flexible debris flow barriers made of ring nets to stop debris flows and retain solid matter. They can be installed across the channel either individually or as a cascade of barriers one after another, with or without intermediate posts.

Snow Retention Barriers
Flexible modular snow retention barriers. Installed in the avalanche starting zone, they hold the snowpack in place and prevent movement within the avalanche release area.
