2D-GEO Mesh

The 2D-GEO mesh is a high-tensile steel wire mesh with diamond-shaped apertures designed for slope and embankment reinforcement, and for protecting surfaces against scree, weathering, and localized collapses. The material is used as part of anchor systems and distributes loads across the surface, enhancing the stability of the soil mass.
The mesh is available in versions with wire diameters of 3 and 4 mm and aperture sizes of 80x130 or 56x90 mm. The wire has a minimum ultimate tensile strength of 800 N/mm² and a zinc anti-corrosion coating of at least 155 g/m². Depending on the version, the tensile strength of the mesh ranges from 60 to 155 kN/m, and the punch-through resistance against an anchor plate ranges from 90 to 240 kN.

Production and Application of 2D-GEO Mesh
2D-GEO meshes are manufactured from high-tensile steel wire with an anti-corrosion zinc coating of over 150 g/m². The rhomboidal mesh geometry ensures the flexibility of the fabric and uniform load distribution across the slope surface, while various mesh modifications allow the material to be tailored to design loads, anchor spacing, and the specific characteristics of the protected area.
As part of an engineering protection system, the 2D-GEO mesh works in conjunction with soil or rock anchors. The mesh fabric is laid over the slope surface, secured with anchor nodes and bearing plates, forming a retaining system that prevents the displacement of individual blocks, soil shedding, and the development of localized collapses.
Such systems are used on rock and soil slopes, along highways and railways, at industrial sites, in quarries, and in construction zones where it is necessary to mitigate the risk of rockfalls, landslide deformations, erosion, and weathering. The flexible mesh structure conforms to the surface topography and can be used in areas with complex geometries without the need for massive concrete structures.
The combined action of the mesh and anchors increases the stability of hazardous slopes by distributing loads between the attachment points and providing surface reinforcement of the mass. The solution is selected based on engineering calculations, taking into account the mesh strength, foundation type, expected loads, and environmental factors, enabling the creation of reliable protection with optimal material consumption.
Geobarrier has been manufacturing materials for engineering protection against hazardous geological and anthropogenic processes for over 20 years. Always in stock at our warehouse in the Moscow region and available to order according to your project requirements.
